Bruce Lee

Description

Bruce Lee - the 1984 platformer for Commodore 64 from Datasoft.

Collect lanterns across a sprawling dojo and caves while traps, a Ninja,
and the Green Yamo harass you nonstop. Time jumps and flying kicks, open
new passages, and push deeper toward the wizard’s lair.

Core loop
- grab all lanterns on a screen to unlock exits
- outmaneuver the Ninja and Yamo and avoid environmental hazards
- advance through connected rooms toward the end area

Systems and items
- flying kick and punch - moving fire for a kick, standing fire for a punch
- enemies - relentless Ninja and charging Green Yamo respawn quickly
- lives - limited stock, contact and falls drain energy toward a lost life
- secret rooms - some walls hide bonus areas and extra lives

Level design and feel
Dozens of single-screen rooms joined into a large map. Ladders, vines,
conveyor ledges, and zap floors create precise platforming rhythms.
Controls are simple and responsive, rewarding clean timing and baiting.

Why it is notable
- classic two player mode where player two controls Yamo in versus play
- efficient sprites and fast room transitions on C64
- enduring cult favorite that defined home micro platforming feel

Tips
- approach the Ninja at an angle and trigger the flying kick early
- lure Yamo into traps or off ledges to buy time to collect lanterns
- leave one lantern until enemies path away, then snag it and exit
