Addicta-Ball

Description

English (en) — by dalu

Addicta Ball - the 1991 breakout-style action game for Commodore 64
from Players Premier.

Bounce a ball to smash through layered brick walls, collect bonuses,
and keep the paddle alive as the pace ramps up.

Core loop
- move the bat to deflect the ball and clear every block
- collect falling power-ups for bonuses or hazards
- finish each screen to advance to the next layout

Systems and items
- power-ups - multi-ball, slow ball, sticky bat, laser, shrink
- trap icons - speed-ups or reverse controls
- level restart - last life lost resets the stage progress
- score bonuses - extra lives at milestone points

Level design and feel
Fast paddle response and smooth scrolling between compact levels. Bright
bricks and large icons give it a cleaner, more arcade tone than many
budget clones. Later rounds throw trick angles and tight rebound zones.

Why it is notable
- late-era budget title showing solid polish from Players’ in-house team
- part of the 1991 Players Premier label relaunch on Commodore 64

Tips
- grab sticky bat early to set up clean angled shots
- avoid chasing power-ups that risk losing your ball
- shoot lasers only when rebounds are under control
