AC/DC Pinball - the 1985 pinball homebrew for Commodore 64 - built
with Pinball Construction Set.
Drop targets, spinners, and rock themed art on a custom table made with
PCS, then play a fast, bouncy layout that rewards clean cradle control
and nailing rolling lanes.
Core loop
- launch and cradle, then aim repeatable shots
- build bonus by clearing targets and lighting lanes
- keep the ball alive to chase multi player high scores
Systems and items
- PCS physics - tweakable gravity - bounce - kick set by the table author
- specials - wired targets and lanes award extra balls or big bonus
- 1 to 4 players - self loading PCS table supports hot seat play
Level design and feel
One custom table with a rock poster backboard and busy mid field. The
PCS engine gives classic 8 bit ball feel with readable angles. Expect
snappy outlane risks and precise nudging to save drains.
Why it is notable
- community built table credited to Olaf Lubeck with D.J.R. and J.M.P.
- created with Electronic Arts’ Pinball Construction Set and distributed
as a standalone self booting table on C64
Tips
- master a soft plunge to catch the ball on a flipper for controlled shots
- trap and shoot for lit lanes first, then sweep drop targets
- nudge just before an outlane hit to graze the post back into the inlane
